I'm really impressed by this game, and it may be my top 1 visual novel at the moment. Let's discuss a bit! (No spoilers ahead)
What makes a good visual novel? I think it's not that difficult to respond to this question in few words. A compelling storytelling, good characters, drive for where it's going and such is definitely a must in every VN, and for me, this one has all of this.
I was really impressed on how big the first few updates were, not breaking those crucial starting moments of any story, made for hooking the reader. I don't remember any other VN that had such a big landing, maybe because it's rare that I get to a Visual novel in it's early stages of production, but this isn't here nor there.
I came to this VN with low expectations, like I always do to every new project that I find, thinking I would get a few hours of content and maybe a good time. Oh boy how wrong I was!
It's difficult to tell what exactly got me so hooked to "Roads yet traveled". I have a couple of guesses, but it's not something that I think it's important.
"Roads yet traveled" also was such a peculiar art style that I can't help but fall in love with. It fits so well with the narrative that I got surprised how well it mashed together.
Like I said, this right now is probably my top 1 visual novel, and for good reason. I'm excited to see how it's going to progress from here.
