I was curious, what the exact age of some of the characters are?  From conversations in the prolouge, we learn that Veera is actually older than Mayvheen as she is outranked as an Ensign, and Lochem has stated in Ep 2 that he was 31. In the confrontation between Khalil that you can enlist at the age of 7 and up, but learn from the MC that they were sent into the Mah'Abeu academy at 6. And even  Ganymede incident that cause by a FREAKING 11 year old.

I know  that the MC you can choose what age range they can fall under (I chose young which I suspected is ranged around 19-24 years old) and it's stated that Mah'Abeu regardless of age are sent out, but that has me curious how long ( or maybe when ) the Discovery Wars was? Because as we know, Veera, Lochem, Mayvheen, MC, (and definitely Khalil) were involved in the Discovery Wars. Would that mean that the MC was potentially was in their pre-teens to early adolescence in this war?

I'm sorry if any of my questions spoils any of the story or characters, I'm just genuinely fascinated and curious  with the lore behind the Discovery Wars and the players involvement. If any of my question cannot be answered I completely understand.

I don't mean it in a rude way at all but I feel like it's not very well worked out so far, my issue is with the lack of clear choices or system/explanation to figure it out. For example when we meet the characters we get three separate choices Friendly/Flirty/Uninterested yet even if we choose the friendly options we still get multiple flirt options (Which is fine I'll just not click them if I don't want to flirt) But then even if I never choose a flirt option I'll still get characters trying to sleep with me one after the other or initiate 'Intimate scenes' (The doctors one seemed completely out of left field but I tried to convince myself that was just 'we're gonna die, wanna bang?' kinda thing)

So that left me confused as to whether or not the friendly blue options were more like a 'slow' romance? And the only way to lock out the romances completely is to choose the red options (Which some I found kind of rude so didn't like picking)

It confused me more with the Commander as his romance system seems completely opposite,  we only have one or two scenes with him where we can slightly flirt but then suddenly when we're in the MedBay (Which is I think the 'actual' start of his romance) Our only romance choice is to suddenly be "Falling for him" which both seems way too fast but also makes my character act all giddy and completely at odds with their personality.

The quality of the art and the writing is solid. The story is intriguing, and there are some truly tense moments, especially when MC is in the space suit getting the medicine. The characters are good, and the 'squid people' are generally unsettling and feel appropriately alien. The music choice during their conversationss adds an extra level of unease. Really nicely done!

Two humble critiques:
First, I thought the prologue was too long. It is definitely an interesting and unique choice to set up the game that way, but I feel it would be more effective if it were shorter. Maybe one shorter action scene each for Veera and the commander, and have the characters explore their feelings about their choices later in conversations with MC.
Second, unfortunately, the romances were a miss for me. (I played through two: the commander's and Khalil's.) Even if I hadn't flirted once with a particular character, there was the option to take things to the next level. And, in general, things felt rushed. For example, I think the MC had maybe 2 conversations with the commander before getting the option to get intimate. (I realise they spent more time together in the hospital that's not shown, but it still felt very rushed.) I know the romances are not the main focus of the game, and that's as it should be, but compared to the main story, they felt like a step down in quality. (And the way the doctor's hand lingered while touching MC... DURING A MEDICAL PROCEDURE!!!... if any doctor did that to me, I would be completely uncomfortable and disgusted and never go to that doctor again.) Anyway, that's just my opinion, and I'll probably just choose the friend route from now on, lol.

Again, overall excellent work by your very talented team! I look forward to the next chapter!

But a small element had me a bit confused actually, At some point, the MC explains to Lebeny that because of their training, they didn't have contacts with their parents at all, and that they don't know what they parents think of them etc. But then later on, when they talk with Lochem, the player actually gets a choice for the MC to have dead parents, parents with whom they have a close relationship, or estranged ones. But then, wouldn't having parents whith whom they reconnected or dead parents invalidate that previous conversation? Either because if they reconnected, the MC would know what their parents think, or if they are dead, they'd rather have mentionned that to Lebeny too (of course I know that conversation with her comes first, but I mean it's strange the MC didn't mention it to her if that was the case, considering the context, and instead simply said they don't know what they think since they were separated).

Also about Lebeny, I didn't have the opportunity to see her after the energy surge, but it seems my MC knew what happened to her after it, since I had mentions about my MC seeing her sobbing, and the memory of her sitting among destroyed plants, which I never saw on my playthrough.


As for the question, I actually wanted to know if at this point it's possible to get an intimate scene with every character or not? I'm asking because one of the few characters I didn't have the opportunity with was actually the only one I had selected romance options with and I was wondering if it was simply too early for that, if I messed something up, or if it was due to some other factors.

It's one of the few novels I can't stop thinking about even weeks after playing it.
The plot is intriguing. It's a good mix of detective and sci-fiction. There are a lot of questions without answers for now, but the game gives a feeling that they will be worth the wait.
Most of the characters in the game are still at the beginning of their characterization. They all are fun to read about, although I hope we will meet even more of them.
The best about this novel is, I think, the Main Character.
The ways the story is playing out, the choices you can make, and the interactions with other people are all very relatable. Playing the mc, I already feel like they have a personality.

I'm gripped by the premise, and the squids are shaping up to be a much more interesting alien race than most scifi I've read lately.  The background art creates a believable space, even in its current sketchy style. You've clearly got a grasp on the underused Ren'Py features like the timing of text to interrupt and facial transitions. I'm especially excited to see how the choices will impact the story. If your attention to detail so far is anything to go by, the future of this project looks bright. It feels like you've put a lot of thought behind this project and building the world up; I'm excited to see where else we get to go!

How do you manage to stop yourself from making every little choice have a big impact? How do you prioritize that?


P.S. There's a spelling mistake in early chapter 3 where diary was misspelled dairy. The exact text is "The panel covered a small cavity filled with obsolete fuses that I could safely remove to make room for the dairy."
