Check out this story driven dungeon crawler I created with bitsy. Hoe you like it!

I just completed my first Bitsy game, How Many Birds, which relied heavily on various mods and some code tweaking of my own. The game lies somewhere between an exploratory 8-bit game, psychoanalysis, and early CD-ROM experiences. It was inspired by early 2000's Flash mini-games, and the chaos of those early interactive web experiences.

I used the Bitsy engine, along with HTML Canvas and custom video players. It's super buggy on mobile, would recommend only trying on a computer :-P 

Bitsy is such an amazing platform, and it was incredibly flexible and inspiring. Thank you Adam Le Doux!!

ive been playing around with bitsy and bitsy 3d color for a while now and it is still a joy to make little sets/environments on them.

when i get in the mood to create these games, i abandon everything else and i work on them for a day or two. i enjoy it very much.

thought to show my recent creation here. a messy train station with nonsense ramblings from a little wolf that needs a break.

ive been trying to make my bitsy games more polished, adding  a more proper cover page, etc. this is a small "game", but i still very much enjoyed the process of creating it.

added some sound in the back too, i think it helps with the atmosphere.

please enjoy, and also please, if there are any critiques or comments! i would always love to improve my little experiences. :)

Fear of the Froglion

Just published my first game ever on itch.io. It's a short investigation on a murder case.

For now on, I didn't try the music and sound possibility of Bitsy. I focused on how to use the tools in order to make a fast and coherent project. I have still much to learn. Maybe I'll add sound later.

It's a little adventure/puzzler that's an overall relaxing time.

its a emotional outpouring of a game around greif, loss and every feeling that comes with it, so I understand that not everyone can playthrough something like this

I've learned about Bitsy last year in July and after tinkering with it for a while I decided to set a challenge to myself to make one game a month for the entire year :) I started in September 2023 and I try to add something new to each installment (for example, add more colors).

I am currently working on part 8 of the series.

Have you ever noticed how leaves will flip over before it rains?

Hi everyone, I'm back at it again with another experiment in bitsy! Leaves in the Rain is a short little walking simulator about leaves and life! A much bigger one this time in terms of the actual bitsy ratio. It was made for a 48 hour game jam with the theme being "flip it". I thought I might as well try my hand using the bitsy 3d hack and it was loads of fun. Hope you enjoy!

Wildfire Chile 24 is a Micro Game to call for help for the victims of the terrible fire that since February 2 has claimed the lives of more than 130 people and caused enormous destruction. 15,000 homes have been destroyed or damaged by the fire, and the National Botanical Garden suffered an almost total loss of its flora and fauna.

At Niebla Games, we feel the pain very closely: relatives, friends, and former students have lost their homes and loved ones. That's why all donations to the game will go to benefit the victims.  Donations of 10 USD or more will be added to the acknowledgments of this page. the game was made with the awesome "Bitsy" engine (Adame Ledoux) and the wonderful tool "Multicolorbisty" (Aurysystem).

Bulletin Board Poetry is a piece of hypertext fiction set in an AU in which Bulletin Boards eclipsed the Web. Explore a simulated BB forum and read each users poetry! 

This little project was a school assignment of mine, with the bulk of it actually being plain old HTML/CSS. The only Bitsy in it is the 'New! Hang Out!' section, although I recommend keeping that one for the end if you intend on reading everything (but ofc it's your choice ;)). 

The poems and characters are based of ones I collected on old Geocities websites, I go in more detail about that on the itch page and link to each of their respective pages if you are curious. 

This was my first time seeing a project like this through, so I'm really proud of myself, despite how simple it is! If I had more time, I would've loved to integrate music and sound effects, as well as some animated ascii. 

And ofc making a longer Bitsy segment! It was made towards the very end and I had no clue how intuitive it would be, I did it all within half an hour or so. 

alright ya'll, after grinding this sh!t out for like six days straight, i can finally say that my first ever bitsy is COMPLETED (it's def super clunky, short, and poorly written, but at least i can say that it is done lol)

3 haikus a little guy can walk around & talk to is an interactive piece about 3 sentient poems that recount a memory i had as a kid. it should only take just a couple minutes to complete.

i'm a poet by nature and have been very interested in doing an interactive piece for a while, but i've just never had the means or knowledge to do so.

It's a fictional experience based on the real figure of Guaman Poma, the indigenous chronicler of the Andes who wrote and drew the titanic work called "El Primer Nueva Corónica y Buen Gobierno." A 100-thousand-page letter to King Philip III of Spain, with 400 hand-drawn illustrations. It is the result of a research-creation process taking influence from the work of researchers and intellectuals like Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui and others.

In the game, we join Guaman in his journey to defend the life and rights of the indigenous peoples of the region, while he encounters a spirit from other lands who questions him along the way. This spirit is a representation of Niccolò Machiavelli, as a figure who constantly questions Guaman's motives from a different worldview and set of motives. The encounter of these two characters was an interesting creative exercise to play with because of three important details that became strongly relevant during the research process: 1) Guaman is writing to the King, while Machiavelli writes to the Prince. 2) Both are characters of important historical, political, and cultural transitions. 3) Machiavelli died just a couple of years before the probable birth of Guamán Poma. So, Maqui, the spirit you will encounter, is a lost soul who arrived with some colonizers to the Tawantinsuyu.

I'm struggling with a bug during the transitions and would love to add music in the future, but still. It has been two years since the first time I shared this project, but now it was time to share it for anyone who would like to try it.

I'll appreacite any kind of feedback (and help with the bug if possible).
