I assumed they were just something PixelOver was showing as guides maybe? (first time using it)

But then they showed up in the final exported project. How do I get rid of these lines?



The lines are not consistent, and If I transform the image they sometimes vanish. But as my animation involves a transform, that just makes them flicker in and out of existence during the animation.

I tried re-importing the image. The lines were still there. I opened the image in photoshop and checked to confirm they were not on the original image.

I change the preview to depth buffer but it doesn't seem to change anything about how the preview looks. I've tried messing with materials and lighting to try to get something to show for the depth buffer, but no luck. Is it supposed to work the way I think it does or am I missing something?

Hi,  im trying to get clean outlines for my characters. Im using a 3d model and i want to turn it into a sprite.

The silhouette outline works perfectly fine. The problem is when parts of the character overlap, like for example the leg in this picture. The 2 obvious solutions seem to be depth and normal lines, however they sadly dont work here. if i use depth lines the entire shoe for example gets fully overdrawn:

Ive tried to play around with the threshold, but either the leg dosent get separated or the shoe/ rest of the model is ruined. using the normal lines results somewhat in the result i want, but its terribly inconsistent, leading to flickering lines on animations and constant gaps in the outlines:

I tried using shader layers, however i have some layers but as seen in the first picture its just not possible to order them. the arm has to be under the shirt but over the pants, while the shirt is under the pants, so it cant be over the arm. also this wouldnt work for animations were orders would have to swap i also tried the new experimental version, hoping the per material shader could help but ive had no success. what id need would ideally be an outline on the legs like the outline of the silhouette. also a material line would be a great help. i hope someone found a solution to this problem, and thanks in advance for the advice.

I was thinking about using a 2D bones animation software for my animations but I was going for Spine since I use Gamemaker Studio, 

However, I think I'll go the full spritesheet way intead with Pixel Over + Aseprite. Easier to tweak the drawing (and so the animations) directly in those tools.

Seriously, the polish function, the fine tuning of the export function, cutting and drawing a sprite, 3D import, animation management, the quality of the pixelart shader, that's really amazing.

It opens easy Dead Cell or Ghost Trick rendering, that's so cool.

Of course, I have some feedback to share as well, but that will be for the dedicated section :D

I rotate a bone and add a key, then when I play the animation, there are no frames. It's all equal. I don't know what I'm doing wrong on adding the keys, but I think it has to do with the fact that every key I add there's a line connecting to the previous one:

Every tutorial on youtube I watch, there is no such line, and I can't figure out how to add a key without that line. I don't know if that's the problem, I just need to know how to properly add a key and see the different frame I've generated.

I hope I am just simply missing something obvious as I am still new to this,

But I have been trying to animate a 3D model, and found that when I manually rotate the model as shown in below video, sometimes and only seemingly on specific axis, it does not properly register the angle. You'll notice when I go to a different keyframe and return, the position is not as I had set it, it is slightly different. When I look at the values within the transform window, they seem to change from the values that I had set. I find the only way to consistently rotate without this issue is by typing the specific values in the transform window.

Can someone please assist me with this and let me know what I'm doing wrong please.

recently ive been using  Pixelover to render 3d objects as 2d sprites.

now for the first time im facing an issue where the models appear invisible. they still cast shadows and have the bounding box around them as expected but the models themselves dont render. This issue only appears when i import the models with armature.

I did however double check the file and exported it multiple times with different settings. the model and armature works in all other tested applications ( godot game engine, blender, windows 3d viewer, browser) but noit in pixelover.

if there is a way to attach the file i can share it here, but im curious if anyone else has this issue. this is especially confusing because i did the exact same thing before but now it dosent work even if i do everything from scratch

Is there a way to import animation from an fbx file and apply to a model that has already been imported?

What I want to do it import my skeletal mesh and shade it the way I want, then import some FBX files with just the bone animations I want.

When I import the animations now, they import just fine but I cannot find a way to apply them to the actual model, they seem to only be applicable to the single object (if that make sense).

What I am trying to achieve in steps:

1. Import my model with skeleton

2. Shade it as I want

3. Import animations (using exactly the same skeleton as the model) such as walk, idle, run etc...

4. Apply those animations to my model.


Hopefully I am just missing some specific step, hope someone can help :)

How can I add a "default" key for a track to every animation? 

Here's why I need it. Say I want to adjust position on one animation, so I add a Transform -> Position track. Well, the problem is that transform doesn't reset, and carries over to other animations. I can kinda see why this would be intended behavior, but it means for every single other animation I have to add a position track for 0,0,0 so it plays in the correct place and doesn't break the export. Same for other kinds of animation tracks. 

Is there a way that I can add a key/track to every single animation at once? Same with setting frames per second - I want 20fps but the tool defaults to 30, and I have to manually set it for every animation. Any help would be appreciated, as these are the two major slowdowns for my workflow.

I want to make edits of the pokemon sprites animations and when I loaded (just dragged and clicked ok one everyhting) the gif's file, the program automatically generated the key sprites, this was very helpful for properly time the animation to the edits im making for them.

Now the problem is that when I loaded another animation (same gif file from the same website) the timeline didnt made the key's automatically, and it's honestly really hard to work like this. So my question is how do I make the program to generate these key's on command, or what are the conditions for them to be generated.

For the record. Both animations play properly, I just want to be able to see the keys as in the first picture, where the second one they're missing, but still play. Please help!

Hopefully my question is undestud.

I HATE saying this, but I bought this software ages ago and despite all efforts, I can't get the application to boot past the main 'editing' stage of the program. 

IE: I can see the project screen on boot, the open a file dialogue, and I try to load an image, even the tiniest image of around 50 x 50 px, my CPU overclocks + 100% then locks and the app freezes. 

Closest I got to seeing the actual stage/editor was trying to open a sprite sheet. The file itself was around 17 KB, and still, it froze.

I looked everywhere, but what are the actual system requirements for this program? You mentioned some GPUS won't play nice with it. I actually am using an EGPU and I had to use Opencore on my mac to get to Monterray 12.6-- the egpu is a RTX 6800 XT (Thunderbolt eGPU connection) 

IDK if that's relevant info, but that's what I got going on! 

I also have the app to prefer GPU over CPU.  However, it seems to ignore this setting and just overclock my CPU.

I'm not really asking for help... I think the app just won't work for me :( Was just curious what type of specs I should look into to possibly run the app on a Virtual machine though. 

I also use a virtual machine (Crossover) for a few apps that have issues like this, so lmk. Maybe that can be a workaround for me? Super bummed, I really wanted to try this out, it looks amazing.

The problem is that the image is an orb with lighting drawn from above, and I don't want it to rotate when moving the bones around (By using IK).
Is this possible?
For reference, there's this game called Gunstar Heroes with some enemies that are robots with arms made of orbs.

If I want a rotation from 0 to 720 over 10 frames its going to turn it to 0 basically and then it tweens wrong.
