I've sent a couple of emails to the support, posted on this forum and still, there is no answer from Itch and still no payout. 

I can see that I'm not alone in this situation. 

If you have the same issue, please reply in this thread. Maybe we could discuss it and maybe act on it, so the support can hear us and finally do something about it. 

As for myself, I've already decided a couple of weeks ago to set the revenue share to 0%, until I've news from them and I receive the payment.

What do you guys think?  Feel free to reply and suggest ideas in this thread.

I am writing regarding my recent purchase of "Vintage Story." The payment processed without any issues, and the funds reached you successfully. I received a confirmation email with a link to assign the key and download the game.

However, when I click on the link, I'm presented with buttons to download the game and a "Get Steam Key" button. Upon clicking the "Get Steam Key" button, I receive the message: "There are no keys available at this time, try again later." Below this button, it says "Your purchase comes with a download key!" and there's a link to create a game account.

When I follow the link to create a game account, even without entering any data, a red error message appears: "Game Key Account not valid (anymore): This game key code has already been used. You can register only 1 account for each game key code. In case you just purchased a key - sometimes it happens that the form is submitted twice and this error occurs. If that is the case, you should be able to log in with the data you just entered."

I contacted your support team a week ago (request 281131) but have only received an automated response: "Your request (281131) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff." I haven't received any further updates since then. I hope someone here can expedite my case, as I'm starting to wonder if this is a legitimate company."

Like there are only few game named "Welcome" and "Street Restaurant Simulator". But then also my game does not show on searching.

So, I've been play games here for a while now and saving others to collections because my Chromebook can't naturally play them.

Is there an emulator that I can use to play games on my Chromebook?

We are waiting for our game to be finally indexed (for weeks now). We have gone through the FAQ and settings - visibility settings are set up properly, we are getting some traffic from various external sources, yet we still aren't indexed after two weeks.

We raised a support ticket (ID 281803) 10 days ago, but we have received no response as of yet, except for the automated one, and we have sent e-mail reminders to the support and got no response at all.

Is there anything more that we can do? It's getting frustrating to be honest, as it hampers promotion possibilities. 

I have 2 payouts that have been stuck in review for a long time:

• ID 166475 in review since January the 15th (150 days) - via Payoneer
• ID 179389 in review since the 27th of April (47 days) - via PayPal

I have sent emails to support in April (request 270077) but have received absolutely no reply, so I hope posting here might help?

 I have some other payments available for payout but if it's not going to be processed I don't really know what to do with them...

On the content creator quality guidelines, there is a statement about accurately tagging use of generative AI.

A part of it reads:

We ask that you accurately tag your project if it contains materials produced by generative AI by utilizing the AI Disclosure section on your project’s edit page.

The script for my game has been written completely by hand. Most of the ideas, character personalities are also from me and from other humans. However, there was a point where while brainstorming for certain personality traits of one character I had, I had asked ChatGPT about it, and I used the answer it gave me, in the sense that I took that as one of my character's personality traits. Does that count as "material produced by generative AI", and should I mark my game as having used AI text?

I’ve carefully read the official Getting Indexed guide and followed everything:

• Game is Public and Released

• Cover image, description, and tags (chosen from suggestions) are present

• Platform set to Windows

• Game is downloadable (not just a placeholder)

• No restrictions enabled

However, my game still isn’t showing up in Search or the Most Recent section. I’m also concerned because none of my recent games from the past few months. Including Astrotype and those released after it,  have been indexed. I can't remember if my very first games were indexed, but lately none have appeared in public browse.

I noticed that some games appear in the Most Recent section just seconds after release, so I’m wondering why my game is experiencing this delay.

Has anyone else experienced this delay or a similar issue? Could my account or games be silently flagged for manual review?

Any help or insights would be really appreciated!

I would also like to point out that not giving the creators the money they are owed is technically theft. I'm not in the US so I am not sure of my legal options, but I have thought about what actions I can take.

I have two support tickets open. On ticket 280610 - I am awaiting my payout. It has still be less than 15 days but the biggest concern is that I chose ‘other’ and I don’t know what that will do. Can I have my payout approved and directed to my PayPal instead? I am also noticing that the tax status needs to be verified and mine has been ‘Pending Validation’ since September of 2024 (almost 1 year) which brings me to my next support ticket…

The next support ticket is newer 282861 - I need to find out what is needed to update my tax status from ‘Pending Validation’ status to Validated. There’s no link or anything I can use to update my tax status.

Please advise soon as I have emailed support twice and have not had a response.

I'm wondering if this is normal or has it happened to anyone? I followed all the tips/guidelines to properly setup my page and I don't think I've done super bad on my page considering my CTR was 1-3% during my first few days. I can only think of a couple scenarios that could contribute to this:

• Bots (Does Itch fix the stat afterwards? I've been waiting for a fix but nothing so far)
• A completely unrelated game jam happened during the weekend and a lot of people were looking for assets (My assets are pixel art fantasy weapon icons, so is quite niche/specific)

All my games are publicly published and not marked as restricted or unlisted. I’ve also double-checked that the tags, title, and metadata are all in place.

Hello everyone! New member here! I've run into a problem with publishing my game.

I was super pumped because I finally got my first game published on itch(.)io – it felt so good to actually put something out there. But then, a bunch of players started saying it might be malware! Apparently, itch(.)io even quarantined my game (As an IT student, I gotta say, the idea of accidentally making malware is both hilarious and terrifying. I'm still pretty new to a lot of this, but I'm definitely not trying to break anyone's computer! 😭)

So, I downloaded my own game's zip file and ran a scan, and it came back with Jiangmin: Trojan(.)Metla(.)gd. I did some quick research, and it looks like this is a pretty common false positive. Basically, the antivirus got a bit overzealous.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, or can anyone offer some guidance on how to deal with it? Thanks in advance for any help!

I noticed two of my top-rated games lost a review each one. However, there is a small margin of error between the rating shown on the dashboard and the game pages. In case you don't understand me, I'll give you the following comparison picture:

As you can see, the game with a rating of 11 was previously rated 12, and both the dashboard and the page look the same, but the one with 5 ratings on the dashboard still has its previous number, which was 6. 

Can anyone tell me why the game that has 5 hasn't removed the 6 from the dashboard?

and like on that i'm gonna possibly use three.js and i know that there is different way of embedding f.e. youtube due to iframes . my games use mostly keyboard input which will be similar on that site (arrows/wasd) and i just don't know if itch.io embed - for example this one i copied from my dashboard:

will it work on such site with setup like above or will itch.io frame cause some bigger complications than youtube does?

An archived topic from last year suggests books are sometimes indexed; but now, none I’ve looked up by title seem to be. Relatively few books come up in tag searches when I filter by project type. The book in the earlier topic and my first book added last week (while I figure the second is too new) are among those excluded.

Is this normal? A recurring limitation? A glitch? I’m not really sure if I should expect anything other than games to show up in searches on itch.io or if the invisble book projects is an issue that should go to the itch.io email.

5 months and still under review. Emailed support multiple times and no response. Tax stuff is all verified etc.

What else can I do at this point? This is just theft currently. Seems I'm not alone with this either.

I submitted a support request (Ticket #280191) over 10 days ago but haven't received a response, so I’m following up here in hopes of getting assistance.

I am a sole proprietor freelance based in the European Union and possess a valid VIES EU VAT ID, which should exempt me from paying VAT on intra-EU transactions between VAT-registered businesses.

However, I’m unable to find a field to enter my VAT number either in my account settings or during checkout when purchasing games/assets. As a result, I am being charged VAT even when buying from other EU sellers.

This issue concerns me not just for my own purchases, but also because potential customers with valid EU VAT numbers may be discouraged from buying my assets if they’re incorrectly charged VAT.

 I’ve also explored the “Direct to You” payout mode, but didn’t find an option to input my VAT number there either.

Could you please clarify how I can register my VAT number properly here on itch.io, and how to ensure that neither I nor my EU-based customers are incorrectly charged VAT?

A User on Itch.io creating RPG Maker Plugins has been advertising his services for paid commission but is not producing what he has been paid for. He has effectively scammed a number of people - including myself - out of money and continues to try and do so on Itch.

Can someone enlighten me on what steps can be taken to report this guy? Asked on Discord and was soundly ignored. 

I'm for sure not getting my money back but I feel its irresponsible to do nothing to prevent others from losing there money also.

The tool that I'm trying to deplou on itch.io contains an `<iframe>` that runs some logic. When running, it returns the following error:

'Uncaught DOMException: Permission denied to access property "generatedAssemblyCode" on cross-origin object'

The tool isn't acessing any external files at all; they are all in the same place.

The tool runs okay when executed from an arbitrary plac.

I am facing a serious issue with unauthorized downloads on itch.io and have received absolutely no response from their support team.

Recently, a buyer abused their account to purchase my game and probably shared access, resulting in 89 unauthorized downloads (and a significant financial loss). I reached out to Stripe, but they cannot take action unless itch.io escalates the case internally.

I submitted a support request (#279192), but despite reaching out via email, Discord, and Twitter, itch.io has remained completely silent—no response, no acknowledgment, nothing. Given the scale of the abuse, I am shocked that this hasn’t been investigated.

How is it acceptable for a platform popular like this to ignore a fraud case this large? Have other developers faced something similar, and what steps can I take to ensure itch.io addresses this?
