Here at Studio Gombo we are not developing nsfw nor adult nor red light games (neither horror nor gore, if for that matter). So you would say we couldn't care less about what happened today with the delisting, and maybe purging, of the first above typologies.
Yet, we care a lot about free creativity and free expression. And we believe that what Itch.io did today, under the unprecedented and unjustifiable pressure of well known payment carriers, is a severe violation of the right to freedom of expression. Severe, because it is the same right Itch.io and carriers have being monetising till yesterday.
Of course, if you don't like the house rules, you may simply move somewhere else, and this is what we may likely do sooner or later. We understand every developer here at Itch.io is actually just a guest in someone else's place, and we don't argue it.
Meanwhile, we do not want another single cent from our work to end up in the pockets of Itch.io and their well known payment carriers. This is why we are turning all of our games free to download, and they will remain such till Itch.io retrace their steps or till we find another "house".
For the time being you may then get them for free from our developer page: https://studiogombo.itch.io
And, just to make it clear we took it seriously: we wrote off our PayPal accounts. We'll see soon about "den Rest der coolen Gang".
