Alvara – A Massive Update Has Arrived!

Hello everyone!

It’s already been a year since Alvara launched, and we couldn’t have made it this far without your amazing support. The game has continued to grow, and we’ve got some fantastic news: a huge update has just dropped, and the demo has been updated as well!

Here’s a look at what’s new (the list is so long, we might forget a few things 😅):

  • Added fatigue and equipment animations for all characters.
  • Adjusted buttons in the equipment menu (character selection).
  • Enhanced camera work during discussions to improve immersion.
  • Added missing NPC profiles so their faces appear during conversations.
  • Removed birds in the sky (the rendering wasn’t satisfactory).
  • Created a new marketing image to better represent the game as a whole.
  • Tutorial texts: More concise, but still being finalized.
  • Bug fixes (multiple NPCs showing up in the team, issue with opening the map menu, etc.).
  • Equipment menu change: Now on the first page of the inventory, making it easier to swap gear.
  • Added a few dead animals for a more realistic atmosphere.
  • Added a "Tired" combat pose to better visually represent character fatigue.
  • Improved tutorial with additional inserts. Jean seemed too informed, which wasn’t narratively coherent.
  • Revised some dialogues to enhance consistency in responses.
  • Added missing character icons in some dialogues.
  • Fixed bugs where certain items or special moves weren’t displaying correctly in combat.
  • And much more!

Check out this video to see some of the updates (and trust us, it’s not everything!): https://youtu.be/IlWRlOJq_qU

We’ve also re-opened a Playtest, so if you’re keen to help us test out the new features, we’d love to have you join! 🎮

And don't forget—the demo has been updated too, so feel free to check it out if you haven’t yet!

As always, your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and your reviews on itch.io or Steam make a world of difference. We can’t wait to hear what you think of these updates!

Thank you again for sticking with us since the beginning. You’re a vital part of Alvara’s journey.

See you soon!
