Devlog: Releasing Fantastical Shopkeep

'm thrilled to finally release Fantastical Shopkeep! This pack has been in the works for a little while, and it’s super exciting to see it come to life and be shared with all of you.

As a huge fan of retro-style RPGs, I've always loved those in-game shops where you can buy cool weapons, armor, and accessories. The idea of building an asset pack that would help developers recreate that vibe in their own games felt like a natural direction. That’s how Fantastical Shopkeep was born!

I set out to design a collection of assets that would fit perfectly in a fantasy-themed RPG or adventure game, focusing on 32x32 pixel

What’s Inside? 🛠️

The asset pack includes over 64items—each meticulously handcrafted to fit the fantasy world! Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find:

  • Weapons: Swords, bows, and hammers in various styles and colors, perfect for adding variety to any in-game armory.
  • Armor & Accessories: Different shields, hats, and medals to customize your characters or NPCs.
  • Magic Items: Colorful rings and necklaces, ideal for crafting magical inventory items.
  • Currency: Gold coins and treasure piles to bring your in-game shops or treasure chests to life!

Each item is carefully optimized at 32x32 pixels, ensuring they are detailed and fit seamlessly into a variety of game styles.

Challenges Along the Way 🧱

As with any creative project, there were some challenges I had to overcome. One of the most difficult parts was nailing down the color palette. I wanted to ensure that the items had a cohesive, vibrant look without feeling too overwhelming. After some trial and error (and a lot of coffee ☕), I finally found the right balance that I'm really proud of.

Another challenge was deciding how many items to include. Initially, I had a smaller set of assets, but as I worked, more ideas kept coming, and I ended up expanding it to over 64 items ! It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it to give developers a well-rounded collection to use.

What’s Next? 🌟

I don’t plan on stopping here! There are already ideas brewing for future asset packs. I’d love to expand on this pack with different themes (maybe a dungeon crawler set or potions and scrolls pack?). If you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to let me know!

Support and Feedback 🙌

If you like this pack and would like to see more, I’d really appreciate your feedback or support.
