Meins Quest DEMO 2 Release date and Patch notes

Hey everyone! Today I have a very important devlog for you guys. Meins Quest DEMO 2 is coming along really well, and is very close to completion. Right now, we are just touching things up to make them as polished as possible. With the game constantly getting more depth and ideas added, there's so much more to take into account moving forward. That aside, we have a lot to cover today! 

First, I would like to chat about the patch notes for DEMO 2,  as there are A LOT of changes made for this build. I'm super proud of what we were able to achieve, as this will make new content moving forward easier to implement. With Meins Quest getting closer and closer to what the final product is meant to be, here is everything you can expect from DEMO 2: 

Patch Notes

 

New additions 

  • Revamped cutscenes: one new cutscene before the title screen, and the original intro cutscene that has been heavily reworked
  • New Menu system added with stage select, options, and the ability to look back and read collected adventure logs 
  • 3 new stages have been added, including the first world boss 
  • 8 new Adventure Logs have been added (9 in total) try to collect them all! 
  • Health Mechanic: Collecting 100 Bytes will heal Mein's HP, and can even give the player up to 6 HP 
  • 4 idle animations added (just to build more character) 
  • 3 new victory animations added (cuz they are fun to make) 
  • New Adventure Log jingle has been added with a short animation to make them feel more important 
  • New abilities unlocked after defeating the world boss 

QOL changes 

  • Controller support refined, now working on menus, and dashing with stick is made easier 
  • Checkpoint system has been fully restored (FINALLY) 
  • Adjusted Meins knockback distance when taking damage to be more forgiving 
  • Bosses now have their HP displayed with their name 
  • Added new effects to make it more clear when the player is healing, and when enemies are taking damage 
  • Tuffull has been slightly nerfed, having startup on her attacks increased 
  • Boss enemies have a new SFXs to more clearly indicate when they are preparing to attack 
  • Slight enemy adjustments for balancing (Genull, Fleater, Tuffull) 

A sizable amount of changes for sure, and you will be able to see them in action soon! Speaking of, we should mention the most important part... 

Release Date 

Meins Quest DEMO 2 will be released on October 5th, in about 10ish days from when this post is going up. 

This is under the assumption everything goes as planned, which it should, but life can't guarantee as much lol. Hope to see you there, as we’ve been building up to this for such a long time now. Thank you, THANK YOU all again for being patient with us.
