Cherry Bomb is a basic arcade Shoot ’em up game (Shmup) reminiscent of Space Invaders or Galaga. Pilot your red spaceship to blast your way through 9 waves of attacking aliens.

The innovative twist in this single-screen space shooter are the titular cherry bombs. Destroying aliens may cause cherry icons to drift down towards the bottom of the screen; catch them to increase your stock of bombs. When you choose to unleash one, how powerful it is depends on how many you have in stock. At the end of each stage your stock drops to zero, so it’s use them or lose them.

In addition to the strategy of using your bombs carefully, the aliens themselves have an array of devious tricks. They start with variable movement patterns, and once you’ve gotten the knack of that, they begin bringing in the heavy artillery …
