Finally woke up!

Okay nobody knows who I am or cared in the first place but this is my 2nd return to being a (Scratch) game developer. This time however, I’m taking this a bit more seriously.

Background:

Hello, my name is regularGAMES! When I was very little, I used to be super passionate about creating my own Scratch games and wanted to make it a big career someday. In 2020 I created the moniker “regularGAMES” and quickly started developing all the ideas I ever had on the scratch website. Almost all of them were extremely ambitious and required a much more complex game engine to make them on. I was only 9-10  then and was too dumb to learn any real programing language, and I never bothered to learn for the years that came. I didn't care however and kept developing my ideas despite my limitations.

Disinterest:

In June of last year, right after I came back last time and started announcing the completion of my last game “Minute”, I was diagnosed with the serious condition of IDGAF syndrome and didn’t want to do any of this stuff anymore. It felt super dumb to be making games in SCRATCH and showing them off like they were worth anything. Shortly after, I found myself a committed partner who I wanted to focus all my attention on at the time (very proud to say I’m still with them today)

Return:

I ended up totally forgetting about the regularGAMES thing and tried my hands at other creative hobbies. I'm pretty alright with music now, but it's been a few months since I've done anything. A week ago one of my closest friends, who I've shared the same interest in game development and now music for years, shared with me a remake of his old Scratch game he's currently working on using Unity. I was really impressed with the results and it slowly brought back all the memories I had creating MY games. I now remember the enjoyment I had when I started and realize that I would like this not as a full time career, but as pure creative outlet!

Things are gonna be different around here now!

Boo yah I'm regularGAMES again!!! :D  But this time things AREN'T gonna be so regular...

Itch: First of all I'm mainly gonna be more active on here now. I'll REALLY update my main page, post more devlogs, and start posting somewhat important blogs like the one you're reading rn. I really wanna be involved and have fun with this amazing community! (and stop feeling like a foreign creature...)

Games: IM NOW ON MY MASTERING UNITY JOURNEY!!! (haven't even downloaded it yet lmao) But yes I'm gonna try to shifting to some reeeal programing remaking some of old games, and creating some old/new ideas that have never been laid on anyone's computer screen before :0 I'm gonna miss deleting you in 1 second every time I start a new project, Scratch Cat *breaks down sobbing*

If you've actually somehow made it this far in the yap, please check out the beta release of my latest game Minute! I realized it's basically just Undertale's battle system, but turned into a super cool platformer! (This is my proudest work yet but still plays very sloppy) Yeah I'm gonna make a whole other post discussing what's gonna happen to it, so be sure to stay tuned because I'm gonna be adding new updates and features to it for as long as I can! Peace out yall have a great day :)
