cybeRRRevolution Coming Soon (August 29th)

Decided to lump both July/August entries into this blog entry to say hey--C3R is coming soon! For real!

I've made some very good progress on the build and have fully implemented Rebel's route with all dialogue branches. Because of things like limited time and resources, I did have to unfortunately scope down Rebel's route quite a bit, though all the original script is still going to be in it. The primary mechanic that was cut out was the passage of time, so now this route will happen all in one night--the inventory system was also simplified though it still works very similarly to the original concept.

I have also finished Barrett's route, which means the whole game is now playable from start to finish. All that's left now is to composite some of the cutscenes, tidy up any outstanding art tasks, and...release the damn game.

Final release date!

The final release date will be August 29th! It will be an itch.io exclusive--the base game will have a price point of 12.99 CAD and there will also be options to get the incredible soundtrack featured in the game.

This date truly is final FINAL, and unless something catastrophic happens before then the game will be out on that date.

I've alluded to this in a few entries, but after C3R is done and released, I'll be taking a long if not permanent hiatus from games. There's a lot of reasons behind this, but the main one is that I'm fully burnt out and want to dedicate my creative energy to other projects that are not games related.

This does mean that the Brujeria @ Werk collective will be dormant after C3R's release, though it may come back for future collaborative projects (again, not game related). It might sound bittersweet, but I'm personally really excited for this next chapter in my creative process.

Some other important details

Since C3R will probably be the last game I release or work on, any shares/boosts of future promo posts are greatly appreciated--there is very little to no marketing budget for this project, so a lot of it will be solely word of mouth. There was a period of about a year of development that had no funding, which meant Nico and I were working on this project for free--and it would be great to recoup some of that with C3R's release.
