Defenders of Dwaca!

That's the name of the game I decided on back in January of this year.

Hello! I'm DwacaDev, aka Aaron, and I have an addiction. Not to running, drinking, eating, or daytime television. But to game designing.

For decades (okay, just over 15 years), I've been interested in creating my own game. Throughout the years, I've always been creating Game Design Documents, and writing down game ideas and mechanics, both interesting and mundane. As a friend told me, always put your ideas on paper or on the computer; you never know when you might revisit them.

I've played countless games to the detriment of my studies and have always been fascinated by creating, designing, and maintaining a game that I, and hopefully my audience, want to play.

In the vast, cutthroat arena of the video game industry, there are so many games that have been created, and countless more that have yet to be created. Potentials that were never reached, games that were here too soon, or here too late. And now, after over 15 years, I have finally reached a point in my life where I throw my hat in the ring. Game creation is no longer something to just daydream about—now is the time for action!

I'd like to present to you, dear reader, Defenders of Dwaca!

Defenders of Dwaca is an arena survivor-ish RPG, roguelite with gacha elements and many ways to build your hero (or heroes!).

I took a lot of inspiration from Blizzard's Diablo series and GGG's Path of Exile, and thought it would be interesting and fun to distill these two games into their basic building blocks. So, Defenders of Dwaca has all the character building, equipment rolling, and monster destroying fun.

Stay tuned to this page for more updates on my thoughts and ideas, development challenges, beta builds, and feedback requests! Feel free to drop me a message if you are interested to know more!
