May Update

Hello everyone! 

I've been meaning to try out doing monthly updates about my general gamedev progress as a way to try to bridge the gap between "me not existing online of half a year" and then suddenly "hi I have a brand new game!!!". So general monthly update! 


This past month I was able to do: 


1. Released a new game! Hug Embassy was this year's nano title and I had the honor of working with KnickknackPJ this year!! They make incredible games and I've always been super inspired seeing their work. Go check them out! 


2. I then released updates to both Hug Embassy as well as A Heart of Butterblue fixing some resolution issues. This has been a long term bug I've been constantly running into in my unity games and this is a hope that this is the first step in my own journey for how to avoid these sorts of pitfalls. 


3. I then participated in Ludum Dare (kinda?) and made a tech demo of a BL Pokemon Style Game haha. Im really happy to see how easy it was to implement this type of environment in Unity and I was so happy with how it turned out I'm hoping to take this little tech demo and participate in this year's Yaoi jam with it(!?). I don't know why I've been so nervous participating in jams recently (and thus I don't announce anything and end up showing up the day of release and then disappearing back into the void LOL) but I'd like to try something different and to say--- Yes I'm participating in Yaoi jam this year! You'll be able to catch some Mokemon and then smooch a sad boy. Top Tier Gameplay. ✨



And 


4. I've continued to work on my Lisa Frank farmsim! This is my long term project I've been working on/off on since last November and I've been so so excited to see it start to come together. This month I even got the pathfinding working !!!!!!! Holy shit!  I can't post videos on itch but you can get a glimpse of what that looks like here: https://x.com/dieletztenrosen/status/1783333855254004186 . That was like the last big hurdle for myself for this type of game I wanted to make. So now I (theoretically) know how to make all the other different parts of this game and it's all down to sitting down and actually making the damn thing. This is a game I don't think will be ready for another year so don't expect it anytime soon. It's just something I've been working on in the background. :) 



That's about all I was able to do this month. Next month the idea is to keep working on this Lisa Frank Farmsim and even... Make some 3D models!! 😱😳
