GoedWare Game Jam eleven, Devlog #1

I've been making a game for The GoedWare Game Jam #11. The name of the game is Isolated Robot Gravity Storm, which is probably too long of a name. I've had the idea for this game for a long time, and game jam gave me an excuse to stop being lazy and get down to business. At faith value, Isolated Robot looks like a VVVVVVVV.. or Megaman Inspired game, but it's actually inspired by the NES game Metal Storm, which I love and wanted to see a sequel of. A sequel to Metal Storm is not a very likely as it's been over 30 years since the original game was released, so I'm making my own ''sequel'', a spiritual successor if you will. 

The main mechanic is gravity control, this not only affects you, it effects the enemies, and even the objects in the environment. You can shoot in 4 directions, and you have to be mindful of your surrounding, deciding when to shoot and when to change gravity. I have plans to add a sword, a charge shot and powerups, but it's too soon to say that I will add them for sure. I want to focus on the level design and polishing the mechanics that the game already has because this is for a game jam, and time is tight.
