So to get it out of the way - currently, I don't intend to really update twitter any more. The simple fact is that Writer Bigot now seems to have free reign to spread hate unaffected by the block button, and as meaningless as I know I am, the fact is that by staying and having people simply looking at posts and news, does add to the site's worth. If one of those people likes a post, interacts, or simply happens to see an ad while there... I'm not comfortable being a part of that. Find me on bluesky or here.

How is Episode 5 going? Very well for the most part. I randomly decided to try out a new pixel-art-specific tool - PixEditor - a week or so ago and for editing backgrounds and sprite work its fair to say its been game changing (...) over Photoshop and the likes. It is so much more precise and accurate, simplifying every part of creating new assets for it. Saying I saved days or even weeks already of tedious Photoshop quirks is not an exaggeration. And while the todo list is still far from short, what does remain feels far more achievable with this change to the workflow.

PixEditor is completely free, for Steam (!), Windows and Mac OS, and I have zero affiliation with them - I'm just a fan of using the right tool for the job, and this absolutely is THE the tool now for making this kind of thing.

On a very random note to close it up for now... SUPER GAMEBOY BORDERS.

Remember those? BGB and other emulators, along with obviously using a game or ROM itself on a Super Gameboy, support them.
And recently, there have been a couple of new tools that allow custom ones to be created easily and added into any existing ROM.

Is it incredibly niche? Sure. Is it also extremely easy and fun? Yes, yes it is. So at some point I will be putting out new "SGB Enhanced" ROMs, with very basic Super Gameboy borders baked into them just as a very small extra "because its possible" bonus. Toying with it just being the episode title and the day/date on which the episode takes place but I think I've got a cute little concept for them... ;)
