Where I Stand (and Have Always Stood)

Hi friends, it's been a while since I posted anything.  I know I don't have a lot of followers, but I hope that by sharing this I can further the cause of liberation.

Given my username and projects on my page, one can easily tell that I am Jewish.  More specifically I am Jewish-American.  My great grandparents fled Europe in the 1930s as the shadow of naziism loomed.  Growing up knowing people hated me for simply existing, that my people have been slaughtered for centuries upon centuries, was traumatic.  Anyone who belongs to a marginalized community can attest to the effect generational trauma has on a growing psyche.

I made a vow to myself years ago, back when I was a child, that I never wanted anyone to experience that trauma.  I went to hebrew school, as most in my community do, where they showed me graphic images of dead jewish children at the ages of 10, 11, 12, and tried to make me a zionist.  They said "look at this horror, this will happen to you if not for the zionist state."  Luckily, I had unrestricted internet access and media literacy skills, so I was able to see this propaganda for what it was.  At a young age I knew that I was an anti-zionist.

I am a proud Jew, which is why I could not and cannot stand by and let a colonial police state (I'm talking about America and Britain too btw) claim to the world that they are doing this in my name.  I am just one person, but I want to join my voice to the thousands of other Jews speaking out and say that zionists do not speak for me, they do not speak for the global jewish community, and they are fooling themselves if they think that their actions are keeping any Jew safe.

No more destruction.

No more grieving families.

No more dead children.

No more generational trauma.

Free Palestine.

As an additional note, if you have any income to spare, please make a donation to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund.  They let you set up a monthly donation and they work to not only provide food and shelter, but also to give these children much needed mental health treatment for the monumental trauma they have endured.
