No November, November Gone

Hello!!

NaNoWriMo is officially over!

What a month filled with exhilaration, and... a lot of aggravation, too! Hahah!

I finished with a word count of 11,284 out of my 50,000 word goal. Almost 25%! And 1/5th of an entire novel!!

I Must Speak

That said, I do have something I want to announce that I'm not so excited to celebrate...

I'm putting the Christmas game off until December of 2024.

I was doing light planning for it in November, and I quickly realized it wasn't something I could make in 25 days.

So, I lowered and lowered the scope, almost to a disappointing level... but it's still too much.

I was trying to rush the story to fit it into around 20,000 words, since I knew I wasn't going to meet the 50,000 word goal.

But I'm still far from the ending. And, all of my plans really only work if ALL the writing was done in November.

Furthermore, I have real-world responsibilities that have popped up this month.

Doing everything I would have to do this month... I feel like I would dread Christmas more than I would be excited for it.

Which would be terrible, because I wanna make this game BECAUSE I love Christmas!

It'll be a huge shame to have no game come out for my first Christmas as a known game developer, but... the quality of the product is always my first priority.

The story of Cedrick and Lixue deserves the time and care to be developed.

Content!

But, I'm not here just to make you sad! Why not share some of the stuff I made???

I made a very professional diagram (created with MS Paint, of course) detailing the progression of the two characters' relationship!

I believe this illustration to speak volumes to the inner voice of Lixue's soul.

Also, Cedrick has glasses now! (Yay)

NaNoWriMo was mean to me...

The Future

With this, now I have two non-existent projects!

  1. Su-BARA-shi!
  2. Christmas

It's not easy, but this is what I think is the best for me, and the project.

If I try to rush it, I'm just gonna hate what I put out.

However, this decision also means...

I can finally get started on my MAJOR PROJECT!!

I've been really excited for this! My first step is completely re-evaluating everything, from characters to the time period. Very few things are safe from being changed!

I've also been thinking a bit about how I want to do the devlogs... It'll be somewhere around 4-400 years until the game comes out, so... I need to figure out what I'm doing there!

But, it may be some time soon that I announce what I'm working on! That'll be a very exciting moment for me!

In Conclusion

Thanks, as always!

Bye-Bye~! <3
