As I mentioned in my introduction, while I am working on my main choose your own adventure game "Hive Mind", I do have some smaller choose your own adventure games in the works as well. They're smaller projects to help me get a better handle on how to make games. I'm completely new to game development and am more of an artist and a writer, so I'm going with the most bare basic game that I can use both of my best skills for. These smaller games are also going to be horror games. I like to read and write horror, so it's only natural to go that route with my games.
One of the games is a rework of an idea I had from a video I made reimagining Banban and what I would've done. The characters were completely redesigned for the original reimagining and have been redesigned again for this. So this one is going to be a simple mascot horror game, but focused on a daycare and security toys. It's going to have some mini bosses where your choices will lead to various results. I figured this would be the easiest to start with since the story is all worked out(don't worry, it's nothing like Banban. When I said I reimagined it, I completely scrapped the story they went with in place for something a bit more realistic). I have the daycare mapped out, it's just a matter of writing the story in a way that works for a choose your own adventure story.
The other is more of a b-horror choose your own adventure game. The story is still in the works but it will be a story where you have to escape a situation involving a creature or monster.
I also have one that may or may not happen that's sort of a psychological thriller based around the rubber duck method, especially since it's something I like to use while writing. The working title, and possible final title if it sticks, is "Writing Buddy". I think it has potential, it's just a matter of if can work for a choose your own adventure game or if it'd be better just as a short story to post elsewhere. Either way, I figured I'd mention that one here in case it does go somewhere.
I don't know how popular choose your own adventure style games are, especially in the horror genre(Think something like Fighting Fantasy Classics), but they're something I enjoy and seem like the easiest for a new developer like me with little to no experience making game to put together.
