Some notes on Dark Citadel RPG Gameplay

This will be sort of a hybrid board game/RPG.  Adventures and travel will require the Citadel Keeper/Game Master to write on blank cards to represent zones or locations on the map.  These can have various traits or special objects or characters inside them.  Player characters and non-player characters can move a certain number of cards/tiles per movement action.  Cards/tiles may have an exit to an adjacent tile on each of its four sides.  Line of sight is determined by drawing a straight line path from the card that the character is on to the card in question, one card at a time.   If a wall is in the way, then the character can't see it.

At the end of each round in a dungeon or other dangerous area, monsters may spawn on any location with a spawn point.  For each spawn point, you roll a d8.  If you get (the number of player characters) or below a monster spawns at that spawn point.  This means parties of players should consist of 8 or fewer characters.  Weapons, spells, and items can all modify this behavior.

The system will use eight-sided dice for all rolls.  It's very similar to the system used in Bitpunk NEO 8-bit Edition.
