When you denied giving an old beggar a coin and she cursed you and all of your kin to die when the branches of the old oak tree each fall. Now, in an attempt to stop this curse, you wrap the branches of the tree with a heavy iron chain to keep them from falling. But the storms are coming, and should you survive all 10, the curse might just lift.
This game starts by having you build a 'tree' out of 25 cards in the deck. Each of the branches represents a family member, and the trunk represents the family as a whole.
Each round you draw one of the remaining cards, and attach it to a tree-card of the same suit as a 'chain' to protect it from a storm.
You then roll 1d6 to see if a storm comes, on a 5 or 6 one hits and you must roll to see how many cards you need to draw. If any of the cards match a value of a card on the tree, then the tree takes damage, and depending on the placement of the card, it may only do a little damage, destroy a branch, or even destroy the entire tree!
I lasted 17 days before my entire tree collapsed in the storm, killing me and my remaining family that had so far survived.
