We will start this post with a huge thank you to everyone that encouraged us to keep working and that helped us through rough times. Without you, we wouldn't have made this 2nd edition of RISE! So, Thank you for your support!
The 2nd edition of RISE has some minor fixes and clarifications in the overall text, just as you'd expect. But the real change is that the 2nd Edition now features 5 different game mechanics to choose from! Why so many resolution mechanics, you might ask? Thanks for asking! RISE was always meant to be somewhat system agnostic - but at the same time we understand that there are some mechanics that just work better with the ideas behind RISE than others. To make it easier for you while creating your RISE game, we decided to give you mechanics to choose from that are all unique in their own approach.
Now the big question is when you will be able to get your hands on this 2nd edition of RISE! Right now, RISE is in review by our proofreaders and sensitivity readers and we aim to have everything ready by next weekend! So keep your eyes peeled for a launch on Saturday, October 28th!
And to celebrate the updated Creator Kit / SRD we will host another Jam! The 2nd RISE Jam will start Monday, October 30th at noon Beijing time - that should be around 6 in the morning in Europe and around midnight in the Americas. We are using this updated version of RISE in teaching and our students are working on games from October 30th until December 15th - the date of the upcoming WolfCon where their games will premier!
