Blade Sight WIP build 10/13/2023

Posting a new build for Blade Sight. It's a Work In Progress build, and it's a little bit weird. If you wanted to try out the changes in combat that i post elsewhere on the internet, now is the chance to see where my brain is at for the project. It's a little bit weird, some of the stuff is somehow rushed after a whole year; About a week ago I decided to adopt an upload pace a friend recommended of Weekly Updates. The idea being that I've gone so long since the last build that i was feeling bad that i wouldn't have -enough- to justify the time since the last build. A VERY large amount of focus has been put into rebuilding a lot of the systems underlying the game. Things as simple as the trees in the background have all been reworked heavily. A big focus was trying to get the game to run smoother and optimize a large number of the processes in the game, both for the end user and for code-ergonomics.

Bolder systems are more possible and easier to iterate and build on than ever before, as the girlfriend system was only really pulled together here in the last week, and within two days i was able to get that ported to just about every character.

However, this build (10/13/2023) is missing the usage of a lot of that stuff. it'll feel a little bit empty unless you really chew at the edges. there are some fun treats in the game, but i encourage you to check it out if you want to feel the combat, play around a bit, and then... don't worry about it too much. Another build will come along.

I'll probably do a bigger anouncement/push about the game when i feel like it's got a good enough -experience- to roll through, rather than the odd little toy it is right now. I dunno, i'm also writing this after the crunch i put myself through that i shouldn't have. this project means a lot to me, i hope you look forward to it as much as i do.

now i'm going to try to not immediately go back to work and maybe sleep

happy friday! - addaline
