Conducting Research for Game Design

Hi yall,

These past couple weeks for my gamification pitch have been spent largely on research. Through a number of academic means, I began to focus on outrage culture and social media addiction as I thought it could tie into a really compelling game. I learned a lot about echo-chambers and even the ways that social media conglomerates feed into and design to create said echo-chambers (looking at you "X").

The result of this research was a deeply disturbed state of mind for myself which encouraged me to work on a dystopian fiction, using literal metaphors to create interesting narrative and gameplay hooks for my pitch. After my research report was finished, I focused my efforts on creating an interesting gameplay loop, after which I converted into a 3-pager pitch and presentation for my class.
