9-18-23 Progress and Placeholder art in progress

I just wanted to put out a short post since it's been longer than I would've liked since the last update. For the past 2 months I've been working on a move out of state, and that is finally happening at the end of this week. After the move I should have a lot more time for this, so hopefully progress wont be so frustratingly glacial. I always intended this to be a slow burn side/pet project, but definitely not THIS slow.
Placeholder Sprite Animation WIP
Right now I'm working on finalizing the last animations, of which the intro from last post is definitely the biggest, but there are also a few sprite animations left to complete. The main character GIF here is keyframes only, it definitely needs some more inbetweens to smooth it out and make the action more legible.  Since I'm limited in what I can post here, I figured I'd add a few frames from the character GIF which though still placeholder, are starting to better reflect the actual art style I want for some of the assets.  All of the assets in the game right now were pretty quickly scratched together for function, and at the time I wasn't 100% on how I wanted the game to look. After a lot of stylistic practice this year, I'm pretty sure I know how everything will look, and I'll be including some full art in the next post to demonstrate.

As an aside, while I have a Twitter I use only for art and updates, I might make a separate one for this game itself so I can actually post all the content I want--this site is oddly limited in terms of what it will let you put in a post.

In any case, thanks to everyone following the project! I've noticed a lot of new followers of late and I'm hoping the next build will deliver on your expectations.
