"Another Nightmare" will be releasing in the next 1-2 weeks from now, it will be here on itch and gamejolt for no cost at all. Being a bit different than Bike Ride it's quite a bit longer being around 30 minutes to an hour of playtime. General information will obviously be on the game page when it's out but if you're wondering it's a horror/puzzle game that requires a bit of exploration from the player. It's not as simple as Bike Ride but we tried to make it a somewhat similar experience that game offered.
A trailer will be out on YouTube on the day of release on our channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvD1QDnx6Ni_JQsgsEfrCwg said trailer will also be linked on the game page.
You may notice or even questioning the fact that this game is not an "ordinary game". This will be explained.
We've sorted out somewhat of a plan/timeline for our future of releasing games. The list goes as follows.
Another Nightmare - mid length horror game
Coming Home - short horror experience
Just an Ordinary Maintenance Check / Just an Ordinary Night Shift - mid length horror games (Explained in a bit)
Another short experience (Deciding on title) - short horror experience
Just an Ordinary Walk Home (Working title) - mid length horror game
A home invasion horror game (Deciding on title) - mid/long length horror game
Web of Wires - full length 2d platformer
Just an Ordinary School
This plan is likely going to be over the next year or so. We are still deciding between night shift and maintenance check simply because of the story of these games. We're hoping to tell things in a specific order, with reveals and story related ideas making sense. It has nothing to do with limitations on resources or simply "how difficult" either would be. Both can be made, we're just deciding on the order.
An experience has one objective, with no way to lose. A game can have multiple objectives and requires a lose state. We won't be making a lot of experiences, but the ones we will make will be short and may seem random or even unrelated to our other games but we assure you they have a purpose that isn't just filler content. Experiences will have no real way to lose, meaning they won't have much difficulty. Which is why they would be short. Games will very much have difficulty, of course said difficulty will change between games but every game we make will have some kind of threat/way to lose. However with games, certain games will be structured/made differently. Ordinary games may not be experiences but they will typically only have one path, there is likely to be a few exceptions but the majority of ordinary games will only have one "ending". Being that they're recreations of real events we can only take so many creative liberties before we straight up start lying about what happened. Non ordinary games will not be limited by such. So what is an "Ordinary Game"?
We've mentioned it so much already you're probably annoyed, an "ordinary game" will always have "Just an Ordinary..." in the title. As a means of distinguishing them. Ordinary games will always fit a certain "criteria" and structured in a somewhat specific manner. Being that they're based on Events_ most will be horror games and will be titled based on a game mechanic or concept. "Just an Ordinary Bike Ride" had the player riding a bike, with movement mechanics reflecting that. "Just and Ordinary Night Shift" would have the player being an office worker taking the night shift. Doing various tasks typically assigned to such a worker. If you paid attention to details with Just an Ordinary Bike Ride you will likely know another detail that's tied to ordinary games, we'll let you figure that out yourself.
Of course plans may change as that is the nature of life but what we've outlined so far include games that will happen at some point.
That's all from us for now, we'll be back soon for the release of "Another Nightmare".
