Hi. How's it going?
As Twitter (ahem, X) is slowly but surely bleeding users and I have nearly as many followers here as I do there, I thought I might drop a little post (now that Itch is allowing non-game-specific ones) just to let everyone know that I am still alive. It's admittedly been tough to really work on games since I went back to work full-time and stopped having the spare hundreds of hours needed to really make much dev progress, but I'm picking at a few things on my days off, so we'll see where that goes. If any of my current series go back to being a priority in near future, it'll probably be Play Dead!, since that one is a) shorter and b) seems to have garnered more interest than DCR has, even in the downtime. Also...I have a chunk of chapter 4 done already, so there's that.
I'm even finally updating the PD sprites! The old ones were a bit...well, old, and I'd originally made them in a hurry for a game jam and they just weren't built to be used the way I use sprites nowadays.
There's also a whole monster collector concept I've been working on here and there since the end of last year. Is it going to go anywhere? Who knows, but I'm having a lot of fun just designing critters and even learning some pixel art! A Pokemon/Digimon-like project has been a thing I've wanted to do since I was a kid, and at this point I figure I don't have anything to lose by just...making the thing that makes me happy in the moment.
I also feel like I've at least somewhat grown as a character and creature designer over the years to the point where I could design a dex full of interesting monsters, even if I'm not entirely where I want to be on that front.
Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now. I'm going to leave my Linktree here in case anyone is wondering where else they can find me (I'm trying to use the Skelebun Tumblr more for general art and off-the-cuff rambling purposes): https://linktr.ee/Hazumirein
With any luck, it won't be another two years or whatever until Itch hears from me again. Keep an eye out.
