"Minimal Horror" Project Devlog #1 - The Renewal Notes

Previously in two of the developer's notes. I'll ask one more time again.

  1. All of my games (except the package one) were completely shelved for good as my passion project is in active development after thinking on this concept about a horror story three or four years ago, which originally titled as "Jared's Salvation" began in December 2018.
  2. About the developments, I don't need any job people like artists, animations, composers, battle designers, and programmers to support my game. It stays for MV-style as a tradition to RPG Makers. Plus, I don't need to write more dialogues for my game, but I need to write it minimal to avoid grammar issues or somewhat.
  3. The genre of my project is "minimal horror", a term for horror genre with minimalistic features and lack of strong horror elements.
  4. Also, I don't want to do crunch time because my head makes me hurtful, which I decided to make it an hour or three. I think my developments are very slow, but I'm sure it goes well.
  5. I have noticed about newer game engines like Bakin, RM MZ and Unite, but I am not very interested in such game engines that can simply use to. RPG Maker MV is an interesting tool that I cherished more for experimenting my concepted projects, even my project is more a passion project of mine than my scrapped but failed prototypes, which I don't care what decides for my story-driven projects or mini-games.
  6. Despite its lack of battle animations and financial budgets, my project will transition into a "no budget video game" and drew heavily inspirations to the tradition of RPG Maker RTP-style based systems without any kind of animations (need something more amateur and basic).
  7. Take it simple for my rules: no background music (only background sounds like a low-frequency sound), no boss battles, no sidequests, no defensive equipments (which the only equipment is a weapon), no hero's status and UI features (only you can see the damage screen that inspired by Naughty Dog's Uncharted), and no EXP.
  8. The first chapter will be use of chase sequences as a nightmare, then the rest of the chapters will be mixed action-RPG and chase sequences.

P.S. If my project is completed, there will be a commercial game as well. If not, still have to finish slowly.

P.P.S. I don't wanna talk about "dramas" in the RPG Maker community, it makes me severely traumatized and can't make it focus for my project (many reasons why I avoid DMs and social media like Twitter (deleted account) and Discord for days). Worry not, I am the "black sheep" or "sometimes friendly-awkwardness" of the RPG Maker community, believe me I have black curly hair XD!
