I know most of you probably are aware that after Episode 3 released - which I am quite happy with - I said this was the case on twitter, but I've barely looked at itch.io and forgot that I hadn't actually said so here. So... Yes. It's coming. It's been going very well. I've tried to push the overall quality a bit more in visual and "production" terms, just trying to add a few new elements for scene intro/transitions or that will make it more authentic where possible. A little game called Tears of the Kingdom has taken up a lot of my time which I hope nobody begrudges because without Zelda Link's Awakening, there would be no Life is 2-D.
It being a much longer episode (an hour roughly) means there'sa lot more that needed done in general because there's more to "animate"/"direct", more branching paths means more complexity, dialogue to type out, animation/movements for small moments during each and every one of those...
There's a reason these were originally going to be very cut down. But there's a reason far bigger that I want to maintain as much of that as realistically possible for one human with no real talent - because this is my tribute to Life is Strange. And while it makes testing far more complicated - it's still fun to work on after all this time.
It only has to meet my own expectations. But... they are high, and hopefully others see and respect that when it shows up. I don't THINK it will be too far off now, but as ever I make no promises because this is by far the most complex episode to date and I won't rush anything out.
