It's Friday. That means we're talking about Qinians. Also called the "Greys"

Lanky, covered in gray skin with large, bulbous eyes, these aliens have been to Earth since even before the Roswell Incident. Their large eyes, while perfectly black, do contain an iris and retina; it's just hard to determine while they are alive. Remarkably short lived, only averaging out to about 50 years old, they are fast thinkers and lovers of technology. They are one of the two alien species that are part of the "Regalian Technocracy," along with the Raris. Both species are from the Alpha and Beta Centauri System.

They are asexual, with no discernible sexual traits and no cultural equivalent to Gender. They are also naturally psionic, though they often only can focus on the mental or physical aspects. A few Qinians are skilled at both, however.

Their cultural focus on knowledge and strategy has led them to become more akin to rear generals and strategists. This has also led them to, until humanity was close to reaching their technological level, abduct and study humanity from time to time. These "Alien abductions" were extremely rare occurrences, however, and nowhere near as common as people claimed. Only happening a handful of times, as they had acquired the necessary biological information. The Roswell Incident, a small, unremarkable spaceship crash to them, was a large incident for humanity.

In a rare bit of humor, when humanity found them and apologized for the incident, the Qinians threatened to abduct more people and "probe" them.

Despite their love of technology, they do not see AI as something that should be messed with, and as anything that should be considered alive. This has causes issues with Ghosts that show up in their systems. As such, the Regalian Technocracy has allied with the Alliance of Non-Confederate Systems against both the Sen and United Confederatation of Systems. Not all Qinians hold this belief, however, and players should be aware of the differing opinions when playing a Qinian.

Next Friday, we're talking about the Raris, their closest ally and an alien from the same system as them.
