I've got plenty of professional experience running projects in software and systems engineering, but gamedev is a whole 'nother animal. For my last game I had no idea how to do production properly, but I did my best. Now I'm trying to follow the process outlined in A Playful Production Process by Richard Lemarchand - ideation, pre-production, production, and post-production. One of the chief parts of ideation is prototyping. This is an in-progress view of my first prototype - "atomic verbs". Move (wasd/controller), see (camera, highlights, progress bars), take/put/make (interact). I will also throw in some audio at the advice of Mr. Lemarchand, then throw it at some of my usual hallway testers.
