Today, we're talking about the galaxy's favorite lizard people, the Sen.

Long lived, even by galactic standards, (500 years on average) the Sen are a very militaristic species that had a mandatory 55 year service period for all people once they are 45. This culture has created a society that is very based on discipline. Everyone has a role.

Where you are in the military is based upon what clan you were born in. Once the mandatory service has been completed, the Sen is allowed to choose their role; but due to their training and natural inclinations, most stay within the role they were in within the military.

They hold a high regard for cooking as food is necessary to keep a proper military working efficiently, however, this is not really believed as almost all species find that Sen cooking is "Bland."

This is a result of a diplomatic incident shortly after First Contact with humans where an unfortunate ambassador died a painful death after eating some spices from a Sen cuisine. Since then, they have avoided using many spices in their food outside of any provided to them.

Currently at war with the Qinains and Raris, they do believe that Ghosts should have autonomous rights as they value bravery and the Pleiterians proved they had that by standing up to the might of the UCS when they were at the peak of their power.

Outside of their love of cooking, they don't tend to place a high value on art or music, though this, like their caste system, has been changing in recent years as they deal with other alien species more often.

Their home planet was discovered in 2015 by the Kepler Satellite. At that time, there wasn't any evidence of them being there, but there was the belief that their planet was under runaway global warming being steered by nitrogen emissions.

The Silver Scale led the project that created the two space stations that now hover above their planet that stores massive amounts of Frozen Nitrogen and saved their planet from cooking the species.

This led to him ruling the planet. And despite being an autocratic ruler, he's well loved by his people. Even almost 200 years later.
