Email marketing is a tool which is very useful in the world of digital marketing. It is greatly useful on a low budget as it is cheap and can have a vast reach, so spreading the word about a product can be easy. As the GDPR makes it clear, the user must consent to being sent such promotional emails as to not have them be spammed (Ico, 2023). To avoid this complication, it will be vital to get the users’ attention before sending any emails by either having them grant permission to you personally whether that be at an event or just by knowing them prior to asking, or by having a link on a website where the user can provide consent and their email address so that promotions may be sent out (Ico, 2023).
There are many ways in which an email can be used and deciding upon which technique to use comes down to the reason it is being sent. For one, a newsletter is a good way to keep users informed as to what the updates and developments are to maintain engagement and make them feel like they are a part of the journey (Drew Harper, 2022). Another good strategy to use is re-engagement, if it has been a while since a user has been actively following along with the game then it is possible, they may have forgotten to check-in or been busy elsewhere. It is likely that such users will still have an interest in the product and may just need a reminder to pay attention, by sending an email to catch their attention once again then it may just do the trick to bring more eyes back to the product (Drew Harper, 2022).
