Dicing with Dinner is a fun, innovative game of resource allocation, and emergent strategy. So why Dicing with Tea?
DwD started as an idea: could a game like this even work? Could it be balanced for multiple players? Would folk find it fun? My kind friends playtested it, to very positive response.
To get that far meant lots of choices without guidance: how to switch up recipes; how to decide points; and others. Some were tweaked in playtesting; others just worked.
With DwD released, it was time to ask what would happen if some of these decisions were reversed: would it still work? The result was a game scored by categories not points, so ingredients become more or less valuable depending on player choices.
Personally I am not done with DwD; it has a lot of potential for add-ons and extra rules to add variety to play; but DwT will likely remain as a fun little game in its own right, feeling very different in play
So, who's for a cucumber sandwich?
