Digital marketing in modern society is an increasingly important form of promoting a game especially with the ever-growing popularity of technology and the gaming industry as a whole. In my opinion, this is the absolute best way to push out a promotion these days as almost everybody has a phone or a computer to use, children seeing adverts for a game they want would encourage them to ask their parents and the parents themselves might even see the adverts and choose that as a gift for their children. Target audiences of games are also typically very active in online communities and generally on the web, if one of these people see a game, they believe to be interesting they may be inclined to share it with their friends online and that then can cause a butterfly effect from word of mouth. Television is also becoming a quieter market as is evidenced by the fact that an article from Forbes states that people are starting to watch live TV, on-demand and recorded movies and shows with the average having fallen to below three hours per day. 20% lower than in 2020 and 5% lower than in 2019 (Barry Collins, 2022). This demonstrates that is would be a much less effective form of promotion than going digital.
