Great concept, first time I see something like this in this jam!

Visuals are very nice and controls are pretty smooth

I've had a little issue with having to press left Shift to attack on PC as it caused my sticky keys alert to fire

On one of the levels (1 screen to the right of the one with balls in the middle) I got stuck inside of the floor tiles and was not able to move at all, had to restart the game

Yeah the shift key is a problem I haven't noticed as I've deactivated that setting a while back. I've added more options in the last package I've uploaded so player can use E to attack and move left with Q for the French keyboard.

I'll check that broken level out once the jam is over, thanks for pointing that out.

Wow, what a cool concept! It's kinda like you're supposed to be in a tug o' war with yourself. Though, I feel like the execution falls a little flat since there's nothing to stop the player from sitting still and purposefully dying to continue moving in one direction (though I suppose purposefully failing makes the game fall in line with the jam's theme). Maybe you could add some sort of gameplay reward for winning a fight just after losing one or add something to disincentivize the player from purposefully dying. You could also try making it so the enemy will never try attacking you unless you are actively trying to attack them, so you can't just sit still.

Yeah it was one of my main concerns and I felt I lacked options to create an incentive due to the limited amount of mechanics. Having the IA stop hunting when the player doesn't actively engage is a very clever workaround, thank you very much !

Cool concept to take over the enemy and fight yourself. Fight controls could be improved though, but it's nice to knock back the throwing stars. As someone mentioned... being able to cut into the bamboo would be amazing!

Great game!  I like the concept and with the music it is better, I also like that you have added functions such as devouring the shuriken with the sword

The idea of taking the enemy control and having to fail on purpose just to  try again, and then doing the same thing but with the enemy is a super clever idea!!! The only thing is that i wanted to throw the shuriken too... T-T (but it was super fun anyway, so that's just a small thing :P)

The shuriken was throwable in the beginning but it made the whole thing too much of a shooter, maybe I could add it as a powerup once the jam is over. Thanks for the feedback !

This was awesome. I loved the simple gameplay and the back and forth! The art was nice as well reminded me of 'Samurai Gunn'

I love the concept of duality, I feel like it still needs a bit more work. I had few weird bugs here and there (the worst was the enemy not spawning on the new map, forcing me to start over), I found the orbs, but not sure what to do with it. The game has really nice music and art, so many points for that!

Thanks for trying it out, glad you liked the music and art ! Definitely needs more work, it's my first game so I was super tight in time. It's not clear enough but you actually need to hit the orb of the opposite color of the current player, and the game ends when both of them are broken.

The two bots fighting was such a great way to kick off the game. I also thought giving the bot the shuriken's was a smart way to bump up their difficulty.

I kept getting pissed off and killing the bot when I was supposed to let it win. So I think that counts as a good enemy design.

I wasn't able to see the ending. I smacked one of the orbs, but I wasn't able to get back to that screen twice in one run without hitting a game breaking glitch. I once walked off screen and got stuck in the floor. And the other time I think I reflected a shuriken back at my own character and the game couldn't decide a victor.

Thanks for the detailed feedback ! Sorry you've kept on getting those bugs, it needed a lot more play testing but time was short. I'll try and iron those out once the jam is done.

The concept of having to fight yourself is pretty interesting. I think it would push the idea even further, if the 'other you' repeated your moves, so you had to truly fight yourself)

The game feels pretty good, actually, the art is amazing.

P.S. When I played the game I wanted so bad to slice those bamboo trees. I think something like that would instantly add more juciness for your game.

This pretty cool like a single player Nidhogg. Love the simplicity. Think it would be nice to have a block button as a lot of the fights ended up becoming a case of waiting for the enemy to jump and getting them when they land. Still fun as is though. Great little sprites.

Thanks for playing ! Yeah blocking would have been the next feature to add, right now you can technically parry by attacking at the same time as the bot, the hitboxes cancel out, but the timing is waay too tight.

Really nice game! The art is simple and really great. I also like the music + the sound effects. 

Really interesting idea. I didn't manage to finish the game because at the last stage (I think) somehow my game bugged and my player disappeared :( It was too hard to redo all of it :) 

Overall I really liked this game and you did an amazing job mate :)

Also if you have time I would appreciate a rating for my game from you :)
