I had a ball with this game. It really made me sit and stay in my seat while playing it. There are a few ruff edges, but nothing that can't be fixed with some post jam pawlish.

How does your game match the theme?
You start with empty spaces, which you fill with mods for your ship and then shoot your way through space to complete your deliveries!

Really like the ship building aspect! We had similar ideas but went in very different directions. I found the game a bit difficult but otherwise the game is really solid and polished. Pulling off the ship building in a gameboy style is pretty impressive too.
Cool mechanic related to the theme and really clean art! It was super fun to make the most ""not optimal abominations"" for the 2 missions you can play jajaja (always have lots of fun in this kinda games)
That was cool! The mechanics are engaging, the art and soundtrack is proficient, and there's a lot of charm in the design.
The font is a little awkward; those uppercase lowercase 'I's and 'L's threw me for a moment.
Weirdly enough, this is one of the more difficult games I've played in this jam. While the main shuttle is very hardy, it feels like the rest of the ship is made out of paper; and every lost part is a hefty punishment. It seems at odds with the level design tendencies to throw large crowds of enemies and projectiles into the fray. I think a more gradual degradation of the ship's parts would suit the general design better.
Good work!
[EDIT:] Oh! Another thing: sometimes a lot of sound effects would stack on top of each other and spike the volume. Not egregiously, but it was a bit distracting.
Awesome! The game is pretty challenging. But I wanted to stay at it. Dialog skipping and a bigger variation of music/sfx would be cool.
I loved the upgrade system! :)
I like the concept and the characters are silly and cute! That said, I died on the second stage way too much because one of the boss's attacks (the one that summons walls) would cause a huge lag spike! So unfair... But every time I died, I somehow had more cash than before, so I finally said "heck it" and just built a cube of guns which did the trick.
My main complaint is actually the dialogue - there's no way to speed it up at all? It moves so slow, I would dread starting a new game and sitting through that intro again.
By the way, if you buy fuel, but the fuel tank destroyed during the level, your fuel level stays increased. Is that a bug? Also after dying, you can still fly around and destroy stuff while waiting for the "delivery failed" text to go away, which is definitely a bug.
Hmm, sounds like your game got in a state where credits and fuel were not updating, I'll look into that bug! Thanks for pointing it out!
I will definitely add a dialogue skip button next jam, also there ended up being a bug in the final build where you can unpause the game with the shoot button during the end game screens. Whoops!
Thanks for playing and all the great feedback!
Very cute shmup with a really cool gimmick! Very replayable.
Even though it's made in Unity, I could absolutely see a game like this existing on the actual Game Boy.
Really cool game. I love the art and the character dialogue, it was a really fun world. The levels were also great though, there was a nice variety of enemies and bosses. So much content.
Loved the concept here, the characters are hilarious. Being able to customize your ship is a great feature. Nice job overall!
I really enjoyed the game; the boss battles, the various obstacles, and the package delivery mechanics are very interesting. The only thing I could say is there's a lot of text; some jokes are funny, but I wanted to jump in and play, and the text took a while to finish. Great job!
Really nice job! This feels very polished and complete. The gameplay felt really good with nice mechanic. I like how you kept the game almost realistic to what could have been developed for original GB hardware.
Super cool game! The modular aspect mixed with a schmup is really attractive. The boss design is really stellar. I had to put this one down for the moment but will come back to it. I did stream it if you are interested in seeing a silly streamer make obvious mistakes:

Cool music and solid sound effects. Attractive color palette, solid character design. Clear visual presentation with lots of great "game juice" (I particularly like the scene transition with the hangar doors closing and opening). Smooth controls with an authentic 8-bit feel. I was not expecting level bosses--and they were very well done, challenging but fair and with multiple weapons!
The modular ship mechanic has potential, but with only these limited levels the system doesn't quite have enough room to shine.
Minor quibble, but I was not a great fan of the way the text scrolls on the screen. Half-formed words will sometimes move position when they are fully spelled out, which I somehow find very distracting. I am inclined against revealing the text strings character-by-character... I never felt that added much.
Thanks for playing and the kind words! I totally agree with your points, we planned for 5 levels and ship upgrades which would have let us slowly add to your ship but with the limited time we decided to put our effort into just 2 levels and give you lots of credits early to let people try the concept.
As for the text, yeah.. This was my first time building a dialogue system, I converted the strings to an array and just indexed through the array. I should have looked for the next "_" and printed everything up to that point. Next Jam!
Thanks for the feedback!
Beautiful game, love the dialogues an the character portraits, i didn´t think about seeing a shoot em up of modular ships in a jam, congratulations! <3
I love Pup! Such personality!
Ship building was great, nice balance between features and a bigger hitbox. I'm definitely revisiting this game with more time.
Good stuff!
