Wow this is an awesome game! And definitely deserves more rates. I really like the art style, the sound effects were great. I found it pretty easy at first because I'm a very visual person, but after a while they started to look the same lol. Also, I really enjoy seeing other people's take on Paper's Please. Honestly, I though more people would do this kind of game because of how simple and scalable it is.

Fabulous art and style, music is great too. Btw looks like in settings music and sfx go to zero on half of a slider. In general game reminds me Paper please)

Love the art so much! I wanted to see every face! Also a great reference to the thing. Good stuff!

This was a very interesting reaction based/identification style game.  Especially figuring out the control scheme and what parts would actually change, which was quite a lot of them.  Especially on the higher difficulties where there were definitely a lot more bits moving relatively close to the original.

Which obviously increased the difficulty quite a lot since there were less blatant differences, Especially since my first assumption was that the difficulty would mainly just be with the timer.  Rather than the actual image itself changing less and less.  At least, that's what it felt like, I could be wrong, it did also feel like there was a time change as well, which makes sense.

One bit of feedback I would say is that maybe a bit of a delay on the audio cues for whether you were correct or not could be delayed.  It might add to a bit of suspense, although it could always change basically nothing.  I'm not entirely sure to be honest, but just a suggestion.

Overall though this was an interesting setup, and honestly reminded me quite a lot of shows I've seen before where a similar situation occurred, specifically an episode of Martin Mystery.  As well as I believe a story I've heard where something similar happened.  Gameplay wise though, it definitely was quite rewarding to get one correct, and quite stressful to try and avoid it, at least for me personally.  I do feel like, maybe a bit more feedback on either, mainly on success, could be helpful.  Though I'm it quite sure what that would be to be honest.

The artwork and music are great and really fun for how simple it is, it reminds me of doing spot the difference games on newspapers. This is a really unique idea and I immediately got your connection to the theme. John Carpenter's The Thing is also my favorite movie so I was very excited when I started the game, heard the music, and the game's name immediately clicked. I really appreciate how you took your inspiration and made something really cool that connects to that inspiration in a way I haven't seen before.

Thank you so much! I'm glad this game's inspiration was able to make you feel excited! We also love The Thing and wanted to make a fun homage to John Carpenters work; I'm glad you got it :)

Nice work! I really liked the art and overall style of the game, it was very cohesive :) Do you have to get a certain amount of right guesses in a row to unlock future difficulties? Currently, my easy high score was 9!

Overall, really liked your submission, great work :)

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes you can unlock different difficulties I just forgot to tell the player lol. Medium when you get 10 in a row in Easy. Same thing for hard but while playing in medium mode!

Very nice and fitting graphics. Nice little memorize game. I like the huge variety of faces. I really like that kind of thing, when there are many varieties of art in some way, which play along the concept of the game. Nicely done! And i like the music/background sound, too.

Developer

Thank you so much! Our artist really popped off with the face assets haha

I enjoyed this game. The graphics in this game are very fitting to the mood of this game, and some of the faces made me chuckle a bit! I like how there are different difficulties in this game, and the details get harder and harder to figure out as you go on. Overall, really polished and great game jam game!

Developer

Don’t know what Jeff Bezos was doing in this game but nonetheless, it’s a very unique idea and It’s very fun, I can see this working as a party game in some way/shape, or form!

Developer

Thank you so much! We were thinking of making a bunch of mini games like this one and throwing them into a bigger party game :)
