Hey, still playing, posting my notes so far and will edit later: EDIT: actually added my new notes as reply

  • Overall good at getting you into the mood via dynamic dialogues
  • Cool ice powers, with nuances and variants, I need to work more on my character powers like this!
  • First scene explaining lore is captivating
  • Second scene: heroine hesitates a lot about stopping at the station but we don’t know what it’s all about so losing interest
  • Fun dialogues between the two
  • Heroine sounds just air-headed at first but her manual and storytelling knowledge give her more strengths and feats. Could probably look even more serious thanks to that (since she know history and why it’s important to stop evil magic)
  • Battle is OK, although since an action resets cooldown of all actions of that same character, long-term Shield and freezing skills are not so interesting, so I just focused on DPS with quick Attacks and quick Heals
  • It’s cool that characters move their mouth, although double mouth animation on big sprite and corner face may be a bit too much. Also, they also animate mouth during silence “…”
  • Heroine is talking out loud when narrating (according to mouth animation) yet Breeze doesn’t hear her. Sometimes she even narrates her happening in locations where she is not! But it may be part of the meta story where she is a storyteller and telling us about how this whole adventure happened…
  • Heterogeneous BG disturbing, but I guess that’s because of free assets
  • Some typos
  • Some block of texts over 4 lines bleeding a bit at the bottom “I’d seen them before, in photos”, “Both of you, please!”

Scene-specific (spoilers)

  • I wonder what story she told the goons to convince them to help her…
  • How did the big guy spot Breeze? Herbert never had a wife? Or did he honestly ask about her in case he really killed an innocent good and would have to meet his wife afterward?

Hey, I noticed the game page is now private so I suppose some update is coming, and maybe some issues I’m mentioning have already been fixed, but since I cannot verify I’ll just post them there.

In order to play the game I had to pick my old download (too bad itch app just doesn’t tell me I can play the old version, I had to manually find it in the Downloads window).

So I finished the old demo, here is my feedback for the last parts:

Music

  • Some BGMs are a bit too “procedural” at times, it’s not clear where the melody goes, esp. the last one (danger mood)

UI

  • Battle dialogues must apparently be advanced by clicking on them (which doesn’t always work), Space sometimes work, sometimes doesn’t.

End of game:

  • the game doesn’t automatically goes back to main menu

Battle room:

  • Corrupted boss (not present in game) has a nice challenge, I had to try and discover that Attacking a Frozen body part breaks it with additional damage! Although eventually just slowing down and spam-attacking enemy is faster.
  • the boss regenerates too quickly though so I couldn’t beat it. Since it already takes time to destroy the two hands to hit the head, it should probably not regenerate on top of that.
  • cannot press Escape to exit battle and go back to battle selection
  • give up gives a black screen instead of going back to battle selection
  • Az: missing FX image exception when I receive the first hit

That was a nice one though, I’m eager to see the rest! Or even different games from the same creator!

Fun cast (and extremely appealing visually), engaging plot and world building right from the start and I loved the battle system! Easy to grasp while stile being hectic, looking forward to seeing it more polished together with the rest of the complete game!
