I didn't know if you wanted to keep the page clean but since there are other comments... here I am!
I loved the characters, design and personality wise, and I can't wait to meet the doctor (whom I think is the skeletal headed individual in the title screen)!
The mistery surrounding the hospital is enticing and I really liked the layout of the floors, they're consistent and look like a real hospital. As a player who always gets lost in big maps I appreciated the little visual cues to signal where you are.
Ivan is hiding something but I can't bring myself to be mean to him xD can't wait to see the extended version, keep up the great work Cryptid!
Hi Lucifer! I'm sorry for the inconvenience ;w;
The save system should be working, could you show me a screen \ recording of what happens when you try to save? (I'm trying to understand what happened)
I know Emerald Wasp might not work on all Macs unfortunately, in that case it's better to run the PC version through Vine
Hi Jxssis! I apologize for the late reply ;w; thank you for playing Emerald Wasp and leaving a comment!
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it that much >\\\<
Usually people go for the pineapple instead, but if you did that it would increase the chances of Archie dying in the bunker two times so... you did good xD
About the arm with the holes, it was Béla's! It's the same CG that appears in another ending, but after the wasp pit it was meant to be a hallucination by Leonid.
I know the puzzles are the true horror of the game... x°°
Out of curiosity which achievements did you get?
Thank you again for your comment!
Hello Zmagnate!
Thank you for playing Alizarin Red >w< I didn't expect somebody to play it before Deep Inside, but I'm glad it stands on its own regardless!
And that you liked it too >\\\< the paintings didn't have an order on purpose, I wanted them to be explored freely because afterall when you play all of them you piece the story together, so it's ok!
PS: if you want to play Deep Inside it can be run in JoyPlay, I'm not sure about the latest version because I didn't test it but otherwise it should work!
A little late, but I commented on the video first eheh!
Thank you so much for the gameplay, Faelel ;\\\\; as usual it's always fun to follow your playthroughs and the comments! I'm glad it was interesting and I hope it pieced a little more information that I had to cut in the current version of the main game (the cart, the paintings burned, etc)
That menu layout was the part that took me most of the time in trial & error for coding so I'm very VERY happy that you liked it so much x°
LMAO the title x°° I wasn't disappointed at all, you really make the best puns!
Thank you so much for this, Houssem! I didn't expect a video but I'm also glad to see you back recording for youtube, the same goes for you and I hope everything is going well in your life!
I never thought I could call the setting of the game a universe, I'm flattered >\\\< and it was interesting to see the order of the paintings you chose! Thank you again!
Hi Skylar! I'm replying here too (I apologize for the late reply on this side) but I'm genuinely so happy to read your comment! I'm really glad that you and Miyo liked the game so much ;\\\;
As for the alternate ending with Sasha alive: I was unable to add it in the end because of the lack of assets (the new version has redone CGs and I couldn't afford to commission more) and the localization already done on the current version... but sometimes I do extra games in form of visual novels, so I'll take it to consideration!
Not gonna lie though, I'd love to see players write about that scenario too and it would have my full greenlight for fanfictions!
Hello Nyuu! I'm so sorry for the late reply ;__;
I wanted to thank you for your kind words, for playing the game and reccomending to your friends too! Your comment is basically a medal of honor for a gamedev and I'm so happy right now ;\\\; thank you so much!
Rule of Salt will take more time to develop but I'm cooking something for the next updates!
Hi N0_connfction! Apologies for the late reply ;\\\\;
Thank you so much for playing Emerald Wasp and for making a fanart of it! The artwork you made is lovely ;\\\\; I love that you included the wasp in it too, it looks really good! It's not lazy at all!
I admit I never thought about somebody breaking all the lockpicks, I should put something to prevent that (or add more lockpicks), it's the first time it happens x°° but thank you for reporting the issue anyway, so I can fix it!
Hello Ferrets_wheel!
First of all, thank you so much for this kind review!
By now you'll have probably finished it, I hope you liked the finale too! As a horror dev, it makes me proud to hear that my game is spooky and effective eheh!
I'm a solodev, but the game wouldn't be the same without the artist of the portraits, the composer of the soundtrack and the testers!
Also I'm really glad to hear you're on the hunt for the secrets! Good luck eheh! Thank you for playing it and reccomending it >w<
Hi Jago! Don't worry, I know it wasn't made with ill intentions and I appreciate you coming forward and writing to me, too!
I apologize for the late reply ><
I mostly referred to GenAI in the post, the ones that generate images and music through prompts. I admit I'm not very informed about c.ai and if it uses renewable energy or not on its servers (I have to educate myself better) but LLMs in general have an impact on the environment. I'd advise to use alternatives, like fanfictions or RP groups (with safe people you know). At the moment I'm writing this reply Google integrated its own unescapable LLM in the search bar, so removing the bot would be pointless I think. I don't know which of the bots is yours but I see many use the portrait art made by PinkAmaterasu, if you keep it I'd prefer you use my art instead to avoid their art to be scraped (I did the CGs in case)
Btw I've made anask blog on tumblrin the end, just to give an alternative!
I finished the game and IT'S - SO - GOOD!!!
I wanted to rate it for the jam but it won't let me, so I have to wait for it to finish to do it ;w; but really Hatoge, you reach new heights every game you make and this one is impressive! (The stair glitch doesn't ruin the experience, don't worry too much about it for now)
Hi Hatoge! I'm mindblown by the game, so far I've played is amazing!
I think I encountered a bug though... if you go up the stairs two times but then go back one time and go back up the staircase become endless (you can only go up or down the stairs but you always get redirected on this map). I tried a new save file, went only up this time and it didn't trigger, so it must be that specific combination of actions that messed something in the staircase. Basically if you do this: up - up - down - up on the stairs they loop forever.
It also happens if you're on top floor (where the entrance code is requested) and you go down once but then go back up, the stairs will loop again.
You either have to go down - down - down or up - up - up, the other combinations softlock you ><
I hope it helps, if I find any other I'll report!
Btw I LOVE the decoding stuff in the game!
The binary codes are very clever too!
Oh, I get what the problem is ;w; it's not a CG unfortunately but an animated sequence and it can crash in some occurrences... but you can still move during it, that's why you hear footsteps, it's just that the screen doesn't play the right image.
I prepared the savefile here! You just need to copypaste it in the save folder: savefile
Let me know if it works!
