In the midst of global protests and riots in the name of #BlackLivesMatter, presidential speakerbox Fox News interviewed writer Terry Turchie, in which they compared the current civil unrest to the supposed aims of the (now defunct) radical political group, Weather Underground Organization. This "strategy" included the line "Attack and Dethrone God", something which did not appear in the original WUO document, and which frankly makes radicals and protestors sound just a whole lot more awesome. I reproduce the list below, with added punctuation!

  • Destroy Capitalism!
  • The weapon of choice: systemic racism and police racism!
  • Identify the victim classes!
  • Organize the victim classes!
  • Engage in international solidarity with the global movement!
  • ATTACK & DETHRONE GOD!

Intended to create moral panic and fear about radical groups, the list has become just the most recent example of a growing set of right wing psyops that, instead of discrediting their targets, just make them sound incredible.

In a similar vein, and slightly more in touch with the modern day, is Pope Francis's attack on transgender people in two rather strange tirades and subsequently made into a T-shirt

  • Reject the order of creation.
  • Revel in the annihilation of Man as the image of God.
  • Destroy.
  • Plot designs of death.
  • Disfigure the face of Man and Woman.

This game jam is a sideways tribute to this attempt to smear awesome people but actually make them sound way cooler. Take a line from The Weather Underground's supposed manifesto, or something similar (please share it with us!), and use it as a prompt to make a short tabletop roleplaying game (or similar).

Because some content could fly a little close to the wire, this jam has a variant of the Olivia Hill Rule

No Fascists: If you’re a fascist, you’re not welcome to join this game jam. It’s against the rules. If you’re reading this and thinking, “You just call everyone you disagree with a fascist,” then you’re probably a fascist, or incapable of drawing inferences from context and acknowledging a dangerous political climate that causes the oppressed to be hyperbolic. Don’t join this game jam. Heal yourself. Grow. Learn. Watch some Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood or something.

There are no other official requirements to this jam, except to make sure that you put a price on your game that will pay you fairly for your labour.
